Volunteer Campaigns: Adding Volunteer Options

This article will walk you through the process of adding Volunteer Options to your Volunteer Campaigns, helping you create clear and engaging ways for individuals, groups, and community members to sign up and get involved in your volunteer opportunities.


Steps to Add Volunteer Options:

1. Click Edit Campaign

2. Select Volunteer Options from the Side Panel

3. Click Add Volunteer Option

While in the Campaign Editor select Volunteer Option from the side panel. Then click Add Volunteer Option on the option grid top right corner. This will open the Add Volunteer Option side panel.

 

4. Enter the Following Volunteer Option Details

Title:
Give your Volunteer Option a clear and recognizable title that reflects the type of volunteer activity being offered (e.g., Park Cleanup Volunteer or Food Drive Helper). A descriptive title helps volunteers easily identify opportunities that match their interests.

Description:
Provide a detailed overview of the volunteer opportunity. Highlight what volunteers will be doing, the impact of their efforts, and any important details they should know before participating. Engaging and informative descriptions help attract interest and inspire people to get involved.

Location Name:
Enter the name of the location where the volunteer activity will take place (e.g., Central Community Park or Downtown Food Pantry).

Meet up Address:
Provide the exact address where volunteers should meet before the activity begins. This ensures everyone knows where to gather and allows organizers to start the event on time.

Event Dates, Time Zone and Times:
Select whether the volunteer activity will take place on a single day or across multiple days.

  • For a single-day activity, enter the time zone, date, and event time.
  • For a multi-day activity, enter the time zone along with the event’s start and end dates.

Activity Type:
Select between Single Sign Up and Multiple Shifts

  • Single Sign Up: Use this option when you just need a total number of volunteers, without offering specific times or shifts.
  • Multiple Shifts: Use this option when your activity has specific time slots or roles. Volunteers can choose a shift that works for them.

Add Your Activity Type Details

  • Single Sign Up: Enter the number of Total Volunteers Needed or select the Unlimited Quantity Option.
  • Multiple Shifts: Select the Add New Shift button, fill in shift details (Title, Date, Start/End times, and Quantity of Volunteers Needed), and select Add Shift. You can add additional Shifts by using the same process

Participant Form:
Choose the option that works best for you — select our Standard Form for quick setup, or a Custom Form for a more personalized experience. Click here to learn more about both form types.

Click to Add Photos:
Upload photos that highlight your volunteer opportunities — such as past volunteer events, team activities, locations, or community impact moments. Inspiring visuals help potential volunteers see the difference they can make and get excited to join in.

Add Documents:
Click blue “Add Documents” button to activate document uploader to add any necessary documents (PDFs, word documents, etc.) that would be helpful to sponsors.

Visibility:
Select Public to ensure the item is visible to all potential participants. If you want to limit visibility to SeeMyLegacy users only, choose Private instead.

 

5. Save Your Volunteer Option

Once you have filled in your details add your Volunteer Option by hitting Save. After adding all of your Volunteer Options you can then save your Volunteer Campaign.

 

You can now view your newly created Volunteer Option within your Campaign, where your community members will be able to see and interact with it.
