When you fill out the sponsorship setup worksheet, Global Settings are preferences that apply to every sponsorship campaign we build for you. Check any you’d like turned on — each one maps to a campaign setting your team will configure in SeeMyLegacy.
Use this page as a quick reference while you complete the worksheet. For deeper how-tos, each setting links to the related Help Center article.
Sponsor Recognition
What it does: Turns on public recognition so sponsors are credited on your campaign page (in the platform this is the Generate Public Recognition Cards setting). Recognition cards appear publicly and help businesses and organizations see the visibility they earn for supporting your program.
When to use it: Recommended for most sponsorship programs. Visible credit — names and logos on the campaign page — is one of the main reasons communities say yes. Pair it with clear recognition benefits in your option descriptions and guidelines.
Keep in mind: Recognition on the campaign page is separate from offline perks (signage, social shout-outs, press mentions). Those still belong in your sponsorship option descriptions and guidelines.

Tax Receipts
What it does: Enables Generate Tax Receipt so sponsors automatically receive a tax-deductible Donation Acknowledgement Letter by email after they contribute. The receipt includes donation amount, date, donor contact info, and your organization’s name, EIN, and address.
When to use it: Turn this on only if your organization and campaign qualify to issue tax-deductible acknowledgments. It’s popular for sponsorships and fundraisers. Contributions to cities and nonprofits are generally tax-deductible when used for public benefit.
Keep in mind:
- If enabled, the tax receipt is attached to the sponsor’s confirmation email; if disabled, no receipt is sent for that campaign.
- Receipts are stored permanently in the Activity Log (Documents) and can be resent later.
- You can’t edit the receipt format — contact support@seemylegacy.com to update your organization’s tax info.
- Consider a short note in your campaign description about whether tax-deductibility applies.

Require Approval (Not Recommended)
What it does: Turns on the Participant Approval Process (Require Applications + Review). Sponsors submit an application first; your team approves or rejects before sponsorship is confirmed and before payment is collected (when a price applies). Approved sponsors get an acceptance email with a payment link when payment is required.
When to use it: Only when you truly need to control who can sponsor — for example, limited eligibility or a selective partner list. Most sponsorship programs leave this off so partners can complete sponsorship in one smooth flow.
Keep in mind:
- This setting is permanent once a campaign is created and cannot be switched later without disrupting applications and payment links already in progress.
- Your team must review pending applications in the Activity Log; applicants get a “under review” confirmation, and organizers get notified of new applications.
- Rejecting an applicant is permanent for that application.
- Approved sponsors awaiting payment get an automatic reminder 72 hours after approval.
Tip: Leave Require Approval off unless you need to review every sponsor before confirmation. Extra steps slow sponsors down and add work for your team — most communities keep sponsorship smooth by skipping this setting.

Customize Follow-Up Email (Optional)
What it does: Lets you add a custom campaign message to the automatic confirmation email sponsors receive after they participate (in the product: Customize Email for Participants under Notifications). Your note is included for every sponsor on the campaign, alongside the standard confirmation details (and tax receipt attachment when that setting is on).
When to use it: Optional but useful for a community-wide thank-you, next steps, timelines, or who to contact with questions. Campaign organizer contact info can also appear in participant emails when you’ve added organizers.
Keep in mind:
- If you leave this blank, sponsors still get the standard confirmation email — customization is additive, not required.
- You can also add option-level custom messages later (per sponsorship tier) if different levels need different instructions.
- Participant emails come from app@seemylegacy.com.

These choices are global: once set for your sponsorship program, they apply across the sponsorship campaigns built for you. You can still refine wording and option-level details with your customer success rep before launch.
