Bringing your existing donor, sponsor, volunteer, or participant data into our platform is a great way to build on your community's history and keep all your engagement data in one place.
What You'll Need
To import your past participation data, prepare a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel) with the following information for each participant. Don't worry if you're missing some fields like phone or email for certain participants - we can still import incomplete records.
Important Fields to Share:
- Full Name
- First Name & Last Name as separate columns are sufficient!
- Phone
- Organization Name (if the participant is associated with a business or organization)
- Date of Participation
- Total Amount (for paid sponsorships, donations, or registrations)
Additional Information/Fields: Any custom fields or additional details you've captured (notes, preferences, special requests, etc.) can be included in your spreadsheet as additional columns, and we'll consolidate them into a notes section for each participant.
Related SeeMyLegacy Campaign and Option:
In SeeMyLegacy, all participation records are connected to a campaign and specific option. If you don’t have a specific campaign already built, our team will create a “Private” Campaign for you to store this imported participation data.

How to Prepare Your Data
- Organize your spreadsheet with one row per participant and column headers for each field

Use consistent date formatting (MM/DD/YYYY)
- If your data is a little messy, don’t worry - we can always clean it up for you!

Indicate the Campaign + Option each entry is linked to
- Campaign/Option Names or IDs will work perfectly!
- Include all custom information in separate columns - we'll preserve this data in the participant's record
